The DVD market has seen three years of stupendous growth,
and it shows no signs of slowing down. The technology has caught the
imagination and interest of consumers the world over and with set top
boxes reselling for as little as £59 in some supermarkets there
has never been a better time to enter the market. More and more people
are now archiving their precious memories on to DVD - the quality is
much higher than VHS and there is no loss of quality from the original.
Lets face it your memories are priceless.
Premier Video Productions
can convert your VHS recordings to super quality digital format. The
DVD can also contain a menu system with up to 9 scenes on it. The initial
creation of the DVD is time consuming and we charge £49 for the
set up which includes one DVD. Copies thereafter are £19 each.
Your cine treasures
can also be converted to DVD. For more information on this service go
to the Cine page. Each DVD can hold one hour at very high quality, 1½
hours at medium quality and 2 hours at low quality.
Some DVD players
can play VCD and SVCD’s. These are based on the CD technology
format but can be played on computers and some DVD players. VCD’s
are roughly VHS quality and can hold up to one hour of video, whilst
SVCD’s are DVD quality and can hold up to about 15 mins of video.
